Home Insurance Policy Benefits:
Temporary Accommodation
We will cover reasonable alternative accommodation for you, your family and your domestic pets if your home becomes uninhabitable as a result of an event covered by your policy. That’s usually limited to $20,000 and for 12 months, but if you’re claiming as a result of an earthquake or tsunami we can extend the 12 month limit and increase your cover to $40,000.
Natural Disaster Cover
If the unexpected happens and your home is damaged by a natural event, we’ll top up the cover provided by the EQC, to the Sum Insured limit, to ensure you can get your life back to normal as quickly as possible.
Replacement of keys or locks
We’ll pay to replace keys or locks, or changes to key codes if the security of your home is at risk following a burglary, theft, or loss.
Replacement Cover
We appreciate that calculating an exact Sum Insured, enough to cover your home, can be stressful. To help eliminate some of this stress, our Home Cover includes Replacement Cover.
In an event other than a natural disaster, we’ll use Replacement Cover to fully rebuild your home even if it costs more than the Sum Insured. To receive Replacement Cover, please ensure you have taken reasonable steps to provide us with the accurate size of your home and calculated an accurate Sum Insured, prior to the loss.

Cover for retaining walls
We cover retaining walls up to $50,000.
We provide house insurance based on the Sum Insured amount for your home. The Sum Insured is the maximum amount we will spend to reinstate your home if you make a claim. The Sum Insured should be the amount it would cost to completely rebuild your home, including any features like swimming pools, fences, sheds and paving.
